Adult Faith Formation - Summer Sizzlers - 2010
I have often been asked to offer once again the eight week QUICK
Journey Through the Bible! Well, here is your chance to complete the
journey in only FOUR weeks!
Dates: Tuesdays – June 8, 15, 22 and 29 at 10:00-11:30 AM OR 7:00 – 8:30 PM
Call Joan Fitzpatrick @ 215.343.0315 to register. The cost for materials is $20.
What is it? This will be a four-week DVD program (each session is an hour and a half) that explores the progression of the story of our salvation history, from Genesis through the resurrection of Christ and the establishment of the Catholic Church.
What is involved? Each week includes 2 half hour DVD presentations by Jeff Cavins. Included is a workbook of background information, group discussion questions with facilitators, and light assignments for home preparation that reinforce the main points.
Who is JEFF CAVINS? Jeff served as a Protestant minister for twelve years before returning to the Catholic faith. His dramatic story is chronicled in his autobiography, My Life on the Rock. Jeff is best- known as the founding host of the EWTN television program, Life on the Rock. Jeff Cavins developed this and other Bible programs when he realized that most people, despite their strong faith, did not grasp the “big picture” of the Bible.
Is the Bible a mystery to You? Though many of us know selected stories, we are not always able to connect them into a full narrative. A Quick Journey through the Bible will instill in us far greater understanding of reading Scripture, hearing the readings at Mass and guide us to enter more deeply into His story.
What will you learn?
1. Understand the major people, places, events and theme of God’s plan of salvation history
2. Receive a practical plan for reading through the narrative books of the Bible in eight weeks.
3. Discover that covenants God made with humanity and how they led up to the establishment of the Church.

JUNE 23 – 7:00 PM in the Cranney Learning Center
A Summer Evening of Reflection: “Who Do Say That I Am?”
“Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, He was asking His disciples, 'Who do people say that the Son of Man is?'
And they said, 'Some say John the Baptist; and others, Elijah; but still others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.' He said to them, 'But who do you say
that I am?'" (Matthew 16:13-15)
With some nice cold lemonade, ice tea and cookies, we will explore some of our images of Jesus (teacher, miracle worker, shepherd, savior, etc…)
